Baroni Capoano “Don Raffaele” Cirò Rosso Classico Superiore Riserva 2013
DOP Ciro, Calabria, Italy
Don Raffaele Cirò Rosso; This wine arises from an old varietal named “Gaglioppo” which originated in the heart of the Cirò territory in the old hillside vineyards with a low yield. This wine was named after Baron Raffaele an expert with the pen and the law who lived mindful of the weak and fought widely for his country. Gaglioppo grapes mature in the hillsides until the second half of October, then they are subjected to a lengthy steeping followed by ageing in oak barrels for at least three years. This wine is produced in limited quantities and available in strictly numbered bottles.
